Montana Civil Contractors is looking for an experienced field project manager to assist the field superintendent. Montana Civil Contractors, Inc. is based in Belgrade, Montana. We are a heavy-civil construction company with projects underway or completed across Montana, Colorado, Idaho, and Wyoming. MCC specializes in landfills, wastewater lagoons, contract mining and mine reclamation, dams, underground utilities and water treatment systems, airport construction, and federal and state highway construction.
On average 50-70 hours, 5-6 days per week. Salary, full health care, dental, vision, per diem, allowances provided to employee, and company match 401K plan, paid time off benefits and sick days provided along with annual performance bonus. There may be some travel during the week to job sites in MT, WY and CO.
- Coordinate with project superintendent and project manager to schedule activities of construction project.
- Inspect work progress and construction site for safety to ensure that specifications are met.
- Read plans and specifications to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
- Assign work to employees.
- Maintain technology skills with laptop, cell phone, and tablet.
- Prepare daily journals in Project HQ software with associated daily pictures.
- Perform daily errands from project site to Denver area for equipment support and project supplies.
- Assist PM and Supt. in planning, organizing, and directing project activities for weekly tasks.
- Assist PM in coordinating project subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure assigned projects/tasks are completed timely with a high level of accuracy and quality.
- Work alongside project manager and project superintendent on all quality control items.
- Monitor fieldwork execution/progress and report on productivity against budget.
- Quantity and field surveying utilizing Topcon GPS systems and Lica Total Station.
- Assist PM and field Superintendent with project document control, RFIs, supplementary information, submittals, and drawing/spec review.
- Assist Superintendent and Foreman in equipment fleet, repairs, and services.
- Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a Project Engineer/Field Engineer and equivalent to a Project Management position in heavy civil construction.
- Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
- Knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Primavera, Contractor Applications and Foundation Project HQ.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
- Willingness to work long hours 5-6 days per week.

Job Zone:
Albion Dam - near Nederland, Colorado. Some travel to job sites in MT, WY and CO may be required.
Salary range: $95,000 – $115,000 base DOE. Plus benefits of vehicle allowance and per diem.
