Senior Data Engineer – 12 Month Contract, Extendable
Location:
Brussels, Remote / Hybrid
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our client’s team on a full time basis. You will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures that support advanced analytics, business intelligence, and machine learning use cases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- 5+ Years as a Data Engineer
- Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL pipelines for large-scale data processing.
- Build and optimize data architectures (data warehouses, data lakes, streaming platforms).
- Develop and maintain data solutions within Databricks environments.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data availability and reliability.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with governance/security standards.
- Automate workflows and implement monitoring solutions for data processes.
- Support migration and integration projects with cloud and on-prem systems.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer (5+ Years) in large scale organisations.
- Strong programming skills in Python or Scala.
- Hands‑on experience with SQL / Postgres.
- Strong experience with Databricks / Spark
- Expertise in ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Kafka, Spark).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing and data lake architectures.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written & spoken).
- Knowledge of machine learning / MLOps.
- Familiarity with data governance, GDPR compliance, and security best practices.
- Experience working in enterprise‑scale data platforms.
- Full Time contract with a leading EU client; working through Devology
