Fullstack Java Developer (experienced / senior)

As a Fullstack Java Developer at Content & Coffee, you will contribute to the development and evolution of business-critical applications for our clients. You combine strong backend expertise in Java with solid frontend experience and actively contribute to architectural discussions, code quality and long-term maintainability.

Your experience enables you to operate comfortably in a consultancy context, translating business needs into robust technical solutions. You have a solid understanding of modern software delivery practices, including the growing role of AI in the software development lifecycle. While working hands‑on, you are able to identify opportunities to improve development workflows, testing, quality assurance and delivery processes, and to proactively suggest improvements that create additional value for our customers.

• Proven, hands‑on experience as a fullstack Java developer in professional environments (several years of relevant experience is required).
• Strong knowledge of modern Java (Java 17+) and experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Data and Spring Security.
• Thorough understanding of HTML, CSS and modern frontend best practices.
• Experience designing, building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrations.
• Strong familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and integration testing.
• Good understanding of software architecture, code quality and maintainable application design.
• Sound knowledge of modern Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices, including quality assurance, testing strategies and deployment workflows.
• Awareness of how AI‑driven tools and techniques can be applied within the SDLC (e.g. for code quality, testing, review or delivery optimisation), and the ability to assess where they can add value in real‑world projects.
• Familiarity with cloud‑native concepts such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Experience with domain‑driven design (DDD), CQRS or microservices architecture is a plus.

• You take ownership of your work and feel comfortable operating autonomously in complex environments.
• You think beyond pure implementation and consider the broader impact of technical decisions on quality, maintainability and delivery.
• You are comfortable working in an Agile environment and understand how development, testing and delivery fit together within the SDLC.
• You have a consultancy mindset: you actively observe how teams work and can suggest pragmatic improvements when you see opportunities.
• You are curious about new technologies and approaches, including the use of AI to improve software development practices.
• You communicate clearly and constructively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• You value collaboration, feedback and continuous improvement, without the need for formal authority or hierarchy.

• Dutch is your native language or you master it at an equivalent level.
• You can communicate professionally in English as well.
• You are willing to work on‑site at customer locations when required.
• You hold a valid driver’s license (B).
