VIE_ Software Engineer - Automation of NMR data processing methods (M/F) _ BELGIUM

Within the digital team at our TOTB research centre, you will work in collaboration with the Analysis department teams, who identify, characterise, and quantify the chemical substances present in a sample. The measurements taken for each sample (raw data) are typically pre-processed and then interpreted by the team members. We would like to entrust you with a project to automate the processing of analytical data and to leverage historical data available in various formats.

During this assignment, you will contribute and develop your skills in understanding user needs, programming, and prototyping. You will implement pragmatic tools (Excel macros, Python scripts, Power Apps) that are easy to use and whose impact you will be able to measure directly with users. You will also develop your data management skills and may implement data exploitation tools based on Machine Learning.

The data aspect will serve as a coordination point with the experimental database project.

NB: PERSONAL VEHICLE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

• Engineering degree or Master's degree in Computer Science or Theoretical Chemistry with programming experience

• Skills in data management, programming, and prototyping
• Understanding of user needs: ability to listen, analyze, and translate needs into concrete solutions
• Teaching skills to explain technical solutions to non-specialists
• Proactive approach to learning and finding solutions
• Enjoy working in a team: collaboration with chemists and developers
• Basic knowledge of agile project management is a plus
• Very good knowledge of Python
• Basic knowledge of Excel, Power App, and/or Power Bi
• Ability to automate workflows
• Knowledge of fundamental data mining concepts
• Familiarity with digital environments (Cloud, SharePoint, Git, versioning tools)

• French: level C1
