JOB DESCRIPTION
A full-time academic position
, indivisible position, in the field of “Small animal surgery” within the Department of Companion animal Teaching and Clinics (DCC). This position includes teaching and research activities as well as services to the community.
TEACHING ACTIVITIES
The successful candidate will participate in theoretical teaching in small animal surgery (approx. 30 teaching hours), jointly with other members of the department, within the following teaching units (subject to departmental discretion regarding course allocation):
- VETE
2082 – Orthopaedics (small animals) - VETE
2068 – Medicine, Dentistry and General Surgery of Companion Animals and Equids
The candidate will also participate in clinical teaching of small animal surgery for Master’s students in Veterinary Medicine:
- VETE
2086 – Companion Animal Clinic - VETE
2093 – Companion Animal Clinical Module
In addition, the candidate will contribute to the teaching of surgery for rotating interns, specialized interns, and residents enrolled in an EBVS-recognised residency programme.
In addition, the candidate will annually supervise final dissertations (master degree) :

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
- The candidate will develop a strong and original research activity with international recognition in one of the domains of small animal surgery. This activity will represent 50% (0.5 FTE) of the position and will involve the development of a research team and the supervision of PhD theses.
- The development of collaborations within the Department and Faculty, as well as at national and international levels, is expected.
