The Job

Are you ready to revolutionise the energy industry and drive new business at the highest level for a rapidly expanding startup in the Be Ne Lux  and DACH region?

As Account Executive at Powernaut
, you are an essential part of our commercial team. You will be working directly alongside the founders and the cream of the crop in the energy space to scale Powernaut from a successful small Belgian player to a European leader.

You will take full ownership of the sales cycle, from hunting new business to closing transformative deals. You will work hand-in-hand with our marketing team to turn leads into conversations and conversations into contracts. This role is meant for solution sellers who thrive on inspirational sales, turning complex energy challenges into clear, value-driven partnerships.

You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy, helping us crack new markets while ensuring our collective efforts align perfectly with Powernaut's ambitious vision.

Here’s what your impactful role will entail:

  • Hunting & New Business: Driving the search for business by identifying and engaging C-suite executives and key stakeholders in your target markets within Europe, building on the leads our marketing team is able to provide. You will use innovative, out-of-the-box approaches to open doors.
  • Value Selling: Moving beyond transactional sales to a consultative approach. You will act as a trusted advisor, diagnosing client pain points and demonstrating how Powernaut is the indispensable solution for energy flexibility.
  • Pipeline mastery: You’ll build and manage a high-value sales pipeline (in Hubspot). You will guide complex deals from initial prospecting and qualification through to successful contract negotiation and closure.
  • Strategic collaborations: Working closely with Marketing to align messaging and lead generation, and with the Product team to ensure market feedback shapes our roadmap.

Your day-to-day will be dynamic and impactful:

  • Proactively prospecting high-potential clients within your focused region together with marketing.
  • Designing and delivering compelling, tailored pitches that resonate with stakeholder needs and inspire action.
  • Closing significant deals that align with Powernaut’s vision, mission and revenue goals.
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure a smooth hand-off to Customer Success, ensuring clients are set up for long-term retention.
  • Spotting and capitalising on upselling opportunities within your growing portfolio.
Your Profile

We're looking for a driven, entrepreneurial spirit who is ready to make a tangible difference.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in B2B SaaS sales or the energy sector. Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment is a massive plus.
  • Solution Selling: A strong track record in managing complex sales cycles, negotiation, and closing deals. You know how to sell value, not just features.
  • Energy Literacy: A nuanced understanding of the energy landscape (or a demonstrated ability to learn complex technical concepts rapidly) is a requirement.
  • Language

    Skills:

    You must be proficient in English AND French
    . Additionally, fluency in Polish, German, Italian or a Scandinavian language is a big plus.
  • Team Player: You enjoy working alongside marketing and product teams, understanding that sales is a team sport.
  • Cultural Fit: You fit our Powernaut values, powering up our constellation with your passion, customer excellence drive, and team mindset while pushing your own and others’ boundaries.
  • Location: Willingness to work from our Ghent HQ minimum once every two months to collaborate with the team, travelling to clients across Europe as required.
