Position: Product Designer (UX/UI)
Location: Town of Belgium

Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Product Designer (UX/UI) to shape and elevate the user experience of our web-based healthcare applications.

This role takes over from a previous part-time design setup and offers full ownership of product design  will have significant freedom to define and evolve design processes, workflows, and standards, working in close collaboration with our Engineering Manager (13+ years of experience in software and product development).

You will work on complex, data-rich interfaces used by clinicians, care coordinators, and patients—translating clinical, technical, and product requirements into clear, accessible, and maintainable designs.

The position is fully remote; however,
candidates must be located in Belgium
, as the role includes occasional in-person customer meetings and collaboration with local stakeholders.

This role is ideal for a designer who enjoys ownership, is comfortable with constraints (technical, regulatory, clinical), and cares deeply about making complex systems understandable and humane.

Responsibilities

UX & Product Design

  • Design user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI for our web application and mobile app
  • Translate product requirements, clinical workflows, and user needs into clear interaction designs
  • Contribute to product discovery by asking the right questions and identifying UX risks early
  • Balance usability, accessibility, and regulatory constraints in healthcare software

UI & Design Systems

  • Own, maintain, and evolve the design system in close collaboration with frontend engineers
  • Ensure visual consistency, clarity, and scalability across products
  • Define, document, and improve design patterns for recurring components and interactions
  • Act as the primary design owner across products
  • Define and continuously improve design processes, rituals, and ways of working
  • Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are feasible and well implemented
  • Collaborate with product management, QA, clinical stakeholders, and leadership
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Support iterative improvements based on feedback from internal teams and users
  • Support sales and business development teams with visual materials such as product presentations, one-pagers, and demos
  • Design and maintain marketing assets that clearly communicate product value and use cases
  • Ensure brand and visual consistency across product, sales, and marketing materials
  • Translate complex product and healthcare concepts into clear, compelling visuals for external audiences
Qualifications

Required

  • Experience as a product, UX, or UI designer for digital products
  • Strong skills in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design
  • Experience designing complex or data-heavy web applications
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma
  • Ability to clearly explain design decisions and trade-offs
  • Comfortable working in a remote, cross-functional team
  • Located in Belgium

Nice to Have (Bonus, not required)

  • Experience designing for healthcare, enterprise, or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG)
  • Experience working with and scaling design systems
  • Basic understanding of frontend development constraints
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineers over long product cycles
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Dutch or French understanding
