Companions is an investment holding that co-invests in small and medium-sized companies alongside ambitious leaders and motivated teams. As active shareholders, we help our portfolio companies grow sustainably, supported by our central team.
From our headquarters in Kontich, we are driven by excellence, a passion for growth, and the ambition to create lasting positive impact. To make this happen, we are looking for a Portfolio Project Manager.
Your RoleYou will lead growth and transformation projects across our portfolio companies. From A‑Z and at the intersection of strategy and operational execution. Digitalization is often central: you will implement ERP systems, build dashboards and optimise processes. But you will look beyond just that, working on commercial strategies, pricing models, cost analyses and KPI development.
You translate strategic ambitions into workable solutions, working closely with buy‑in managers who have the vision and business acumen but lack the bandwidth for these initiatives. Your role is to take ownership of these projects from scoping to delivery, ensuring they are executed efficiently and effectively.
You will report to the Head of Strategy & Operations and work closely with buy‑in managers, finance teams and external partners.
Your responsibilities will include- Identifying growth and efficiency opportunities across portfolio companies, working with buy‑in managers to prioritise high‑impact initiatives that drive value creation;
- Performing in‑depth, data‑driven analyses to uncover actionable insights, from profitability assessments to pricing optimisation, that support strategic decision‑making;
- Scoping and managing projects end‑to‑end with clear objectives, realistic timelines and measurable deliverables across multiple portfolio companies simultaneously;
- Gathering and documenting business and IT requirements from portfolio company leadership and internal stakeholders;
- Designing and implementing digital systems and tools, taking full ownership from concept through execution;
- Optimising processes for maximum operational efficiency, while facilitating effective stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, IT, Engineering or any related field, with an excellent academic track record.
- 2‑4 years of relevant professional experience; motivated starters are also encouraged to apply.
- Genuine passion for digitalisation (ERP, cybersecurity, data tooling…) and project management discipline.
- Strong analytical skills combined with excellent communication skills.
- Problem‑solving mindset, being comfortable diving deep into data, requirements and implementation details.
- Autonomous, taking initiative and willing to take ownership.
- Fluent in Dutch (spoken and written) and English;
French is a plus.
- High level of autonomy and responsibility with direct exposure to company leadership and strategic decision‑making.
- Tangible impact and steep learning across diverse sectors: see your implementations go live and drive real business outcomes, not just deliver reports.
- Collaboration with high‑performing management teams and inspiring colleagues, that foster a culture of leadership, excellence and entrepreneurship.
- Attractive compensation package, complemented with regular team events and growth opportunities.
