Offer Description

The postdoctoral researcher will work on a multi-year applied research project on the safe and responsible integration of AI code assistants (e.g. Git Hub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, open-source LLMs) in professional software engineering workflows. The research focuses on analysing security and quality risks of AI-generated code, developing guardrails using static and dynamic analysis tools, improving prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation techniques, and ensuring traceability and observability of AI-generated code artefacts.

The researcher will contribute to scientific publications, demonstrators, workshops and collaboration with industrial partners.

Applicants hold a PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or a related field, have a strong background in software engineering or security, solid programming skills, and experience with modern development workflows. Experience with AI-assisted software development and industry collaboration is considered a strong asset. The position offers a full-time postdoctoral appointment at KU Leuven with a competitive salary, excellent research infrastructure, and opportunities for scientific leadership and industry engagement.
