We are looking for Senior UX / User Researcher, that will lead, design and execute high‑impact research initiatives that shape product strategy and inform design and engineering decisions across the full product lifecycle. You will serve as a trusted research partner to design, product, engineering and senior leadership stakeholders—advocating for users, shaping the research function, and influencing business outcomes.
What you'll be doing:- Lead the end-to-end research lifecycle: define research questions, choose methods (qualitative, quantitative, mixed‑methods), plan and execute studies, analyse findings, and synthesize actionable insights.
- Develop and own a multi‑phase research roadmap aligned with product strategy and business goals. (See Google example: driving multi‑phase research roadmaps across the product portfolio.)
- Partner with cross‑functional teams (UX design, product management, engineering, analytics, business leadership) to identify and prioritise research opportunities and integrate findings into product decisions.
- Translate research outcomes into clear, compelling narratives, presentations and strategic recommendations for stakeholders—including executive audiences.
- Advocate for user needs and behaviours throughout the product development lifecycle: from generative research through evaluation and post‑launch learning.
- Mentor, guide or support other researchers (where applicable), contribute to building the research discipline, methods toolkit, and best practices.
- Influence the broader research strategy and culture—help shape how research is ope rationalised, how insights are consumed, and how research impacts product and business metrics.
- Fluent level of Dutch and English
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Science, Psychology, Sociology, Information Science, Anthropology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5‑8 years of applied user/UX/product research experience in a product development environment (ideally in tech).
- Demonstrated expertise in a wide range of research methods (e.g., interviews, field studies, diary studies, usability testing, surveys, analytics/behavioural data, mixed methods).
- Proven ability to synthesise complex qualitative and quantitative data into meaningful insights and articulate them to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong influencing and communication skills: comfortable presenting to senior leadership and driving consensus across cross‑functional teams.
- Experience operating in a fast‑paced, ambiguous, and evolving environment—able to prioritise effectively and manage multiple research streams simultaneously.
- Track record of influencing product strategy and business outcomes via research.
- Experience mentoring or leading more junior researchers or building research teams/operations.
- Experience working in large, matrixed organisations, navigating complexity across product, design, engineering, analytics.
- Familiarity with analytics or statistical tools/data
- Experience in your domain of product (e.g., consumer apps, advertising systems, enterprise SaaS, safety/privacy systems) and/or working with regulatory, safety or complex systems.
