Functional Analyst

You join the product development team of Exail’s UMISOFT software. You work on 2 main topics:

• Mission Management Systems coordinating and interfacing with multiple heterogeneous unmanned assets and control centres, in a maritime environment.
• Data Management and Data Centres combining mission data in relational databases and large amounts of sensor data collected during maritime operations. A heavy layer of domain‑specific knowledge / business logic (marine environment, GIS, military operations) is part of the system.

In the context of collaborative projects in the defence industry, you are responsible for both the business analysis and the technical coordination of development projects
. You drive and specify the developments of our software products, while also coordinating the execution of the project in direct contact with stakeholders and industrial partners.

As a functional analyst, you are in charge of gathering and consolidating stakeholders’ needs and requirements and translating those in concrete functions and specifications. You enter an international team dispersed over Belgium and France, and help build a growing team in Belgium. As technical coordinator, you intervene mainly in collaborative projects with partners all over Europe. You define and specify product developments in line with our product roadmaps and follow up on the technical execution together with our development team.

• Requirements Gathering and Functional Analysis
  :
  Gather and analyze stakeholder requirements, translating them into functional specifications. Ensure alignment with business and technical needs.
• Technical Coordination and Project Management
  :
  Coordinate project execution, manage timelines, and facilitate communication between teams and international partners.
• Product Specification and Roadmap Definition
  :
  Define product specifications in line with functional analysis and strategic roadmaps, ensuring consistency with the product vision.
• Collaboration with International Partners and Stakeholders
  :
  Serve as the main contact for international partners, ensuring alignment on project goals and fostering cross‑functional collaboration.
• Testing and Validation of Technical Solutions
  :
  Oversee testing and validation of solutions to ensure they meet functional requirements and quality standards.

• C#, .Net Stack, Angular, REST, GRPC, Powershell, SQL Server, UML 2.0/Papyrus.
• Architecture: micro‑services, clean / onion / vertical slice, event driven architecture.

• Domain‑driven Design.
• V-cycle, agile, CI/CD, TDD.

Employment is based on Mouscron or Ostend.
