Mission

Responsible for electronic and electrical design, development, verification, and project follow-up of airfield lighting, power systems, and related products. This includes designing electronic boards, schematic capture, PCB layout, firmware requirements, risk analysis, and supporting the product throughout its lifecycle. The engineer will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance, innovation, and product quality.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and coordinate electronic/electrical requirements and specifications, including system diagrams, schematic capture, simulation, and evaluation.
  • Execute detailed electronics design, including schematics for lights, regulators, and power units.
  • PCB layout, component placement, CAD drawings, and production methods.
  • Firmware requirements and microcontroller programming (C/C++).
  • Perform engineering calculations, measurements, analysis, and circuit verification (including FMEA, stability tests, test plans).
  • Design, build, and support test cases, fixtures, and automated test procedures for design verification and product validation.
  • Develop and review BOMs, part numbers, production/vendor test specifications, and technical documentation (manuals, leaflets).
  • Integrate software and power electronics, ensuring clear interfaces between disciplines.
  • Provide maintenance and support for existing products; troubleshoot field issues.
  • Collaborate on design and engineering reviews; evaluate and report results.
  • Liaise between engineering and purchasing, manufacturing, service, and other business units.
  • Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, universities, external labs, and standards bodies.
  • Track and implement new technologies and components.
  • Secure intellectual property (inventions, patents).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (FAA, ICAO, IEC, etc.).
  • Contribute to internal policy, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Evaluate competitor products and follow market developments.
  • Participate in and support audits/inspections as needed.

  • Other departments such as Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Logistics, Quality, Production, System Engineering, Business Administration.
Skills/Qualification Experience
  • At least 4 years’ experience developing products in an electrical/electronic manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in analog and digital circuit design, PCB design (layout, schematic capture), and component selection.
  • Proficient in programming microcontrollers (C/C++), firmware requirements.
  • Experience with ECAD tools.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols: CANbus, SPI, I2C, RS232/485, Ethernet, Modbus, TCP/IP.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills (hardware and firmware).
  • Practical knowledge of revision control systems and PLM processes.
  • Experience with high power electronics, AC-DC converters, and inverters.
  • Expertise in EMI/EMC design principles, test methods, and standards.
  • Skilled with electronic test tools (oscilloscope, analyzers, spectrum analyzer).
  • Understanding of airport product and system usage, regulatory compliance (FAA, ICAO).
  • Familiar with test and experiment design, as well as documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experienced in lab environments with a focus on safety, power supplies, and constant current circuits.
Education
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Electro-mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Languages
  • Fluency in Dutch or French and English required. German is an asset.
