Prevention Advisor Level 1 – Telecom Engineer

To support our fast-growing telecom activities, we are looking for a Prevention Advisor Level 1 with a strong engineering background in constructions, constructions instalations/networks, telecommunications – is an advantage, who will play a key role in ensuring safe working environments across both mobile and fixed network projects.
This role combines field presence and office-based work
, requiring mobility across different sites and cities.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Policy & Strategy
Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies and procedures adapted to telecom engineering activities (mobile and fixed networks). - Risk Analysis & Assessments
Conduct in-depth risk analyses for network construction, installation, and maintenance activities, both on-site and in office-based projects. - Field Safety Oversight
Perform regular site visits to monitor compliance with safety regulations, identify hazards, and proactively address risks on mobile and fixed network construction sites. - Incident & Accident Investigation
Investigate incidents and near-misses, perform root cause analyses, and define corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence. - Compliance & Audits
Ensure compliance with Belgian safety legislation and telecom-specific standards through inspections, audits, and safety reviews. - Safety Culture Development
Work closely with engineers, contractors, project managers, and management to promote a strong safety culture across the organization. - Training & Awareness
Support the development and delivery of safety trainings, toolbox meetings, and awareness campaigns for internal teams and external partners. - Project Support
Act as a safety partner for telecom projects, advising engineering and deployment teams throughout the project lifecycle. - External Coordination
Liaise with external authorities, inspection bodies, and partners regarding safety matters when required.
- Certified Prevention Advisor Level 1 (mandatory)
- Master’s degree in Engineering
, preferably Telecommunications Engineering - Proven experience in constructions, installations construction – including electrical, data, equipment, networks (launch, implementation, maintenance or infrastructure projects) –
construction of mobile and/or fixed telecommunications networks is an advantage. - Strong understanding of risks related to telecom field activities (working at height, RF exposure, electrical risks, civil works, etc.)
- Fluent in French and Dutch
, with a good professional knowledge of English - Willing and able to be mobile across different sites, combined with office-based work
- Strong analytical mindset with a pragmatic, hands‑on approach
- Able to work independently while collaborating closely with engineering, QHSE, and project teams
- VCA-VOL certification
- GOF 3–4
- Knowledge of Belgian telecom safety standards and regulations
- Experience working with contractors and subcontractors in telecom environments
