Your mission
  • Prepare, design and execute tests for prototypes of opto-mechatronic systems, as well as the test data acquisition, processing, analysis and reporting. Especially applied (but not limited to) space equipment.
  • You use the testing equipment available and adapt it to specific tests, especially in the context of space qualification (e.g. use of thermal vacuum chambers, thermal chambers or shakers).
  • This will also include a large design work for test equipment, assist in prototype development, operations etc.
  • Extending the capabilities of our test facilities or building entirely new test setups is part of your job.
  • You provide input to the rest of the team from a testing perspective and feed their input back.
Must have
  • MSc in University Degree in electromechanical engineering (preferred), electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or similar
  • Open to juniors: no previous work experience required, but a strong motivation to learn and work on multidisciplinary tasks.
  • Knowledge or experience/interest in environmental testing
    • Measurement concepts and tools and their application in practice
    • Data acquisition and measurement automation
    • Data analysis, plotting and reporting
  • Knowledge of a scripting language like Python, C++,…
  • Hands‑on abilities and adaption skills.
Nice to have
  • Experience with optical components and systems: laser diodes, optical fibers (principles and handling), photodiodes…
  • Interest in optical systems
  • Experience with thermal and vacuum, or vibration tests is beneficial
  • Experience in space‑oriented AITV processes
  • Good organization and planification skills
