Location: Town of Belgium
We are looking for a Plant & Equipment Operations Engineer to join an established operations team responsible for managing and supporting a diverse fleet of construction equipment across multiple projects in Belgium.
This role combines regular presence on construction sites with close collaboration at a central operational hub. You will support projects located between Brussels and Limburg
, while also working from a coordination base in the Brussels region (Sint-Pieters-Leeuw). The position focuses on ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable use of construction machinery across all assigned projects.
- Plan and coordinate the mobilisation and demobilisation of construction equipment across multiple project sites.
- Provide technical and operational support to site teams and methods engineers for equipment-related topics.
- Follow up on the equipment fleet, including technical monitoring, administrative follow-up, and lifecycle management
. - Develop and maintain preventive maintenance strategies to ensure high availability and operational reliability.
- Coordinate inspections, repairs, and servicing with internal teams, subcontractors, and external suppliers.
- Be present on different construction sites several days per week
, with additional coordination activities carried out from the Brussels region. - Liaise closely with planning, procurement, and project management to align equipment needs with project schedules.
- Monitor and report on equipment utilisation, costs, downtime, and performance
, identifying opportunities for improvement. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
, including optimisation, standardisation, and cost-efficiency measures. - Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to equipment operations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering
. - Minimum 5 years of experience in plant & equipment engineering, fleet operations, or equipment support within the construction or civil works sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction machinery, mechanical systems, and site operations
. - Experience with preventive maintenance planning and coordination of repairs and inspections.
- Well‑organised and comfortable working across multiple sites and stakeholders
. - Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with site teams and external partners.
- Fluent in Dutch, French, and English (spoken and written).
- Practical, solution‑oriented mindset and able to work autonomously in a dynamic construction environment.
- Ideally based in, or willing to commute easily within, the Leuven–Brussels–Limburg region
.
