** Photonics Design Engineer
** to support the development and optimization of cutting-edge photonic integrated circuits (PICs) in Leuven. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in photonic component design, modeling, and layout, who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.###

* Key Responsibilities:

*** Design, model, and layout photonic components and integrated circuits using industry-standard tools.
* Set up and execute design of experiments (DoE) to validate and optimize photonic designs.
* Analyze test data to extract performance metrics and guide design improvements.
* Translate customer requirements into system-level concepts and PIC architectures.
* Contribute to the enhancement of existing photonic platforms.
* Maintain and update design libraries, documentation, and standard operating procedures.## YOUR PROFILE
* Degree in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
* Proven experience in photonic design and simulation tools (e.g., Lumerical, IPKISS, Synopsys, etc.).
* Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
* Familiarity with PIC fabrication processes and testing methodologies.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.###
** Preferred

Skills:

*** Experience with silicon photonics or other integrated photonic platforms.
* Knowledge of optical communication systems and applications.
* Experience working with customer-driven design requirements.
