Companion Co brings together several Moore and Auren accounting and consulting firms across Europe, supported by Waterland Private Equity Investments B.V.

The group currently operates across six European countries (Belgium, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany and Spain), all fast-growing, market-leading firms and consolidating their positions across Europe under the Companion Co umbrella.

To deliver on this ambition, we are appointing a Business Development & Growth Leader

Your Main Objectives
  • Responsible for designing, coordinating and implementing the group’s organic growth strategy across all countries and business units.
  • Act as the central coordinator of business development across the group.
  • Fully leverage the company’s pan‑European model: 360° service offering, integrated client approach, and international network.
  • Accelerate commercial performance by unlocking cross‑border opportunities and new growth segments, including the midmarket.
  • Strengthen collaboration between country firms to turn joint opportunities into revenue.
  • Build and elevate Business Development maturity, alignment, and effectiveness across all local teams.
  • Operate at both strategic and hands‑on level to ensure measurable growth impact.

The Business Development & Growth Leader will report to the Executive Partner (based in Belgium).

Your Profile
  • A strong overall CV, with an academic background in economics, engineering, or a related field, combined with a successful and progressive career trajectory.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, ideally beginning in a structured, professional services environment such as a Consulting or Big Four firms, followed by key Business Development roles in a fast‑growing company(ies).
  • Proven experience in multi-entity, international environments; exposure to complex stakeholder management is an added value. As is prior experience in a Private Equity portfolio company.
  • A pragmatic, hands‑on mindset, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization both internally and externally. You brings a down‑to‑earth attitude and prioritize execution over visibility.
  • Strong experience in change management, particularly within a context of integration of new firms.
  • Low-ego, and the ability to operate effectively within a complex, international environment.
  • Highly structured and well‑organized, capable of steering projects and resources with an international exposure.
  • Full professional fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional European languages is a valuable asset.
Location

This role can be based in one of the countries mentioned above. The Antwerp and London offices are the most actively involved. You will occasionally travel to Companion Co offices across the group.
