To support our continued international growth, we are expanding our global customs organization with a dedicated Customs Solutions Officer
.

Tasks and responsibilities:

As a Customs Solutions Officer
, you are responsible for coordinating the development, optimization, and delivery of customs processes, procedures, and applications — including Stream and Cargowise — used by our international customs teams. Your role ensures that the company remains fully compliant with international laws and regulations.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, optimization, implementation, and integration (e.g., with WMS) of customs IT solutions across the organization, including customs procedures, processes, and applications used by our international customs teams.
  • Analyze internal customs processes, provide recommendations on how they should or could be supported by IT systems, and ensure compliance with legal and internal requirements.
  • Verify that customs data (such as HS codes, origin, and value) are complete and accurate, identify and resolve data or process errors, and support customs audits, invoicing, and customer requests by providing data or generating declarations.
  • Contribute to IT projects related to customs, including the implementation of new customs procedures and customer onboarding. Configure customer-specific customs settings (e.g., storage procedures, bonded warehouse, IIAA, GPA).
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enable the development of innovative solutions within our customs services offering, and translate functional and technical solutions into business needs.
  • Monitor and analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement in customs processes and procedures.
  • Continuously promote integration between the customs team and other departments within the company, facilitating cross-border collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop work instructions and process documentation. Train customs staff in the use of IT solutions and ensure documentation is kept up to date following legal changes or system updates.
  • Support management in developing and implementing a strategic vision for customs compliance solutions across the organization.
Profile:
  • A higher education degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Customs, or a related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in customs compliance, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • At least 3 years of (technical) experience with customs software systems; experience with Stream and/or Cargowise is an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs compliance processes and regulations, including trade agreements, compliance requirements, and import/export clearance procedures.
  • Excellent computer and software skills, including familiarity with relevant tools and systems for supply chain management and customs compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English
    , with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and apply a data-driven approach to decision-making.
