HGV Class 1 DRIVER (2 posts)

Andrews Flour, based in Percy Street, Belfast, is Northern Ireland's only independent flour mill and has been milling flour since 1722 and we deliver flour across the island of Ireland.

We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver who can drive articulated lorries and trucks and provide an excellent-quality delivery service, by transporting Andrews Flour to our customers in a safe, legal, timely and courteous manner.

• Operate company vehicles safely and legally, adhering to tachograph regulations, driver hour limits, and all road laws.
• Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, report unavoidable delays, and maintain clear communication with management.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and basic maintenance, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy, clean, fuelled, and faults addressed promptly.
• Load, secure, and verify flour deliveries, checking accuracy against customer orders and ensuring product safety during transit.
• Deliver goods professionally, respecting customer property, following site safety rules, and providing excellent customer service.
• Complete accurate documentation, liaise with weighbridge, and support operational tasks such as loading for next-day deliveries when required.
• Maintain professional standards, including wearing uniform, being presentable, and working flexibly to meet varying schedules and continuous improvement goals.

The above list is not exhaustive but gives a good overview of duties.

• At least 2 years HGV driving experience, including multi-drops
• Hold a current and full clean HGV Group C+E Licence
• Have a current Driver Qualification Card
• Possess a Digital Tachograph Card
• Have a good working knowledge of the NI and RoI road network
• Be flexible in terms of start/finish times as these can vary daily
• Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills (speaking, listening)
• Can read and write English accurately and follow instructions and procedures
• Be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills
• Must be eligible to currently work in the UK.

• Previous experience in bulk flour or grain delivery to multiple sites.
• At least 3 years or more HGV driving experience, including multi-drops.

• Monday to Friday plus one Saturday or Sunday shift (8 hours) every 4 weeks included in salary.
• Contracted 50 hours per week, which includes built-in overtime.
• Start and finish times may vary to align with operational requirements.
• Drivers may finish earlier during quieter periods or work extended hours within legal limits during peak demand (with agreement of management).
• 1 hour break each day.

A fixed annual salary of £40,770.81
, which includes contracted overtime and the scheduled Saturday or Sunday shift every four weeks.
