Belfast is the global centre for Citi’s ICRM Surveillance and Portals Technology, part of the broader Functions Technology organisation. The team is the global centre for the creation of a sophisticated next generation Trade and Communications surveillance platform with data scientists and software development teams working together to use cutting edge technologies and techniques (including big data technologies) to build feature-based surveillance algorithms.
Programmedescription
We provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed. During the programme, you will study for a Level 6 Software Engineering qualification with Queens’ University Belfast. You will have access to first class technical and business training from well-established team, plus Citi’s online training portal. Side by side job shadowing and coaching with your team will be combined with the opportunity to work with Compliance counterparts in one of the world’s largest investment banks.
Programmeresponsibilities
As an apprentice in Surveillance Technology, your typical day will be dynamic and involve a blend of learning, hands‑on tasks, and observation. The focus will be on:
- Development – Contribute to writing surveillance applications that aim to detect instances of market abuse that may occur in Citi’s trading activities. Write clean, testable code that can be easily maintained by other developers in future.
- Dev Ops and Release Management – Support the deployment and scheduling of the applications to ensure regulations are met and keep our platforms stable.
- Organisational and operational efficiency improvements – Automate or streamline repetitive tasks to free time for exciting projects.
We want to hear from you if…
- BCC including at least one preferred A-level (Mathematics, Computing or Software Systems Development) + GCSE Mathematics grade C/4.
- BBC including at least one relevant A-level (Chemistry, Digital Technology, ICT, Physics, Technology and Design or Double Award Applied ICT) + GCSE Mathematics grade C/4.
- You may also meet the course entry requirements with combinations of different qualifications to the same standard (provided subject requirements are met).
Successful applicants will be enrolled on to the Queens’ University Belfast BEng Software Development Part‑time Undergraduate course.
