General Fabric Maintenance Assistant

We are currently looking for a general fabric maintenance assistant ideally based in Moira/Portadown/Craigavon area so can be picked up by an engineer. We need someone who can easily adapt to a change in schedule and can work alongside other trades to prioritise workload. Someone who can work on their own initiative, can work independently anticipating challenges, and finding opportunities for improvement, showing you are reliable, resourceful, and a proactive contributor to a team or organisation.

Can work under instruction, demonstrate tidiness and attention to detail. You will need to be physically fit having the physical capacity to perform specific tasks. Experience in using plant equipment/ladder-steps access/hand tools. You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to complete paperwork in a neat and concise manner. This is a full‑time role working 40 hours per week, with the opportunity to supplement your salary through overtime when required.

Your job role will mainly be based on compliant planned preventive maintenance, small projects & maintenance assisting said engineer.

• You will be assisting time served tradesmen joinery/fabric/electrical maintenance engineers and will meet said engineer at an agreed location each morning.

• Experience in several different areas will be looked at favourable such as joinery/glazing/locks/door repairs, minor plumbing, minor electrical, painting, plaster repairs, & general handymen duties.
• Capable of carrying out physical duties.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Always maintain a high standard of health & safety, ensuring correct PPE is being used.
