As a Beauty Advisor specialising in cosmetics at Sephora, your primary responsibility is to provide exceptional customer service and expertise in makeup, skincare and fragrance, ensuring smooth and efficient operations (cash and stock). You will assist customers in selecting products, educate them about current beauty trends and promote Sephora’s brand offerings, contributing to the overall success of the store in the UK by ensuring customer satisfaction and driving sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Assistance
    :
    Engage with customers in a friendly, approachable manner; actively listen to their needs and preferences; offer personalized product recommendations and advice, considering skin type, tone, needs and desired look; assist with product selection and provide detailed information on application techniques.
  • Product Knowledge
    :
    Stay up-to-date with the latest beauty trends, techniques and products at Sephora; understand features and benefits of different makeup, skincare and fragrance brands, including private label offerings; continually expand knowledge of new launches, ingredients and industry innovations to provide accurate information.
  • Sales and Goals
    :
    Proactively engage customers to drive sales and meet store targets; recommend additional products, upsell complementary items and promote the loyalty program; participate actively in promotional activities and events to maximize opportunities.
  • Cash Operations
    :
    Accurately process transactions in compliance with cash procedures; follow daily cash‑in and cash‑out protocols; maintain cleanliness and organization of the cash area and gift‑wrap stations.
  • Stock Management
    :
    Receive, inspect and verify incoming shipments; unpack, label and tag products accurately; organize and maintain inventory storage areas; perform regular stock counts and assist with audits; monitor levels and reorder as needed.
  • Stock Replenishment
    :
    Work closely with management to prioritize stocking tasks; keep stockrooms adequately stocked; restock products promptly and maintain appealing displays; monitor expiry dates and rotate stock; assist with merchandising plans and promotional displays.
  • Visual Merchandising
    :
    Maintain a clean and appealing makeup, skincare and fragrance section; ensure shelves are stocked with appropriate quantities; monitor expiry dates and remove damaged items; participate in product displays and promotions.
  • Brand Representation
    :
    Embody Sephora’s brand values; keep a professional appearance; uphold visual merchandising standards; act as an ambassador by promoting values and offerings.
  • Team Collaboration
    :
    Collaborate with beauty advisors and managers to create a positive, inclusive environment; share knowledge and best practices; participate in meetings, training and workshops.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in a retail or customer‑experience environment, and in store operations (cash and stock).
  • Passion for and knowledge of makeup, skincare and fragrance products, techniques, applications and industry trends.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and connect with customers.
  • Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry heavy boxes, stand for extended periods and perform required tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service with personalized recommendations.
  • Goal‑oriented mindset and ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and thrive in a fast‑paced retail environment.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
