Chef De Partie – Avoca Ireland, Belfast

Avoca Ireland operates across 13 locations and is known for its award-winning cafes, restaurants and food markets. We are currently looking for a full‑time Chef De Partie to join our Avoca Arthur St, Belfast location. The role starts immediately, 5 days per week, and is a permanent full‑time contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the highest standards in food hygiene, service & presentation (HACCP & Health & Safety Legislation).
  • Assist with menu planning and menu costings to ensure the budgeted Gross Profit Margin is achieved, eliminating waste where possible.
  • Assist with food orders in line with company purchasing policy, ensuring only suppliers from the approved supplier list are used.
  • Ensure that any Food Safety/Quality records assigned to you are carried out daily within the kitchen and related areas, without exception.
  • Lead the team’s performance to deliver the highest standards of food for our clients.
  • Share responsibility with the Head Chef for checking, probing, and signing all food deliveries to ensure that only the highest standards of produce are accepted into the unit.
  • Ensure that food presentation is innovative; temperatures are recorded on the appropriate charts.
  • Assist with carrying out stock takes as appropriate.
  • Review the kitchen hazard list every week with the Head Chef.
  • Maintain good communication and working relationships with customers and staff.
Key Requirements
  • Relevant culinary qualification.
  • 1‑2 years of experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Experience in industrial catering.
  • Experience with HACCP documentation.
  • Experience with menu planning.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene.
  • Professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective communication with staff and customers at all levels.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately, both written and oral.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage food costings and ensure budgets are met.
