Endoscopy Pre Assessment and Bowel Cancer Screening Team Manager Band 7

Be responsible for leading the endoscopy pre-assessment and Bowel Cancer Screening (BCS) services within the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust as part of the senior nursing team. They will ensure the delivery of safe and efficient pre-assessments for patients prior to their endoscopy procedure and specialist screening for BCS, in order to reduce cancellation rates and maximise utilization.

Provide clear and effective leadership of the endoscopy pre-assessment and BCS teams in order to meet challenging performance targets at both local and Departmental/PHA levels.

Assist the endoscopy service manager and lead nurse in the development, co-ordination and delivery of high quality pre-assessment and SSP services.

Liaise closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team to improve channels of communication, allow maximum utilisation of resources and promote continuity and coordination of the service.

Lead on ensuring efficient and effective service delivery through service modernisation and  responsible for the monitoring and analysis of variances from agreed plans and  responsible for a devolved budget and accountable for effective financial management in partnership with the Lead Nurse and Service Manager.

• Registered General Adult Nurse on part 1 (live) of the NMC register.
• Hold a post registration qualification related to endoscopy.
• Completed training as Specialist Screening Practitioner for Bowel Cancer Screening.
