Senior Staff Nurse

The post holder will lead a team that demonstrates person-centred care, through role-modelling this approach to care in their own practice. In addition, the post holder will play a supportive role in leading the development of the care setting, seeking opportunities for learning and development. Drawing on own expertise, the post holder will disseminate expert evidence based knowledge and skills in order to continuously develop self and others.

• Role model and enable effective communication with patients and relatives to assist in their understanding of their illness, care and treatment.
• Adopt a questioning approach to existing practices and constantly seeks ways of improving care delivery based on available evidence.
• As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, co-ordinates care to ensure that it is effective and holistic.
• Participate in compiling duty rotas/annual leave/study leave arrangements to ensure that the team and the department has cover at all times.

• Registered General Nurse on Part 1 of NMC Register.
• 3 years’ experience as a registered Nurse, with 2 years’ in a Recovery environment.
• Evidence of relevant post registration recovery / pacu education.
• Registered Children’s Nurse.
• Have a degree relating to Nursing Practice/health Care.
• Experience in care of post operative paediatric patients.
