CNC Milling Machinist

Full time (42hrs) | Pennybridge, Ballymena Salary £30 - £37k dependent on experience. Due to continued improvement and growth Smiths Engineering require an experienced CNC Milling Machinist to set up and operate 3 & 5 Axis CNC milling machining centres. The successful candidate will be required to set machines and prove out programs to enable the smooth running of production batches.

We are seeking candidates with the following essential criteria :
Applicants must be time served or have level 3 engineering qualification at pass grade. (Or demonstrate suitable experience in other disciplines such as fitter / mechanic, joiner, electrician etc) CNC machining experience setting and machining on milling machines. Competency in finishing and inspecting machined parts. Read and understand technical drawings. Good attention to detail. Working knowledge of Heidenhain or Siemens controls.

Desirable criteria:
Experience in Vericut. CNC programming experience. Experience in Mastercam or similar CAM Software. Dayshift - Monday to Thursday (8.30am - 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm). Ability to work 12 hours shifts will be essential after training period.
