IT Support Technician
Are you an experienced IT Support Technician who enjoys solving technical problems and keeping business-critical systems running smoothly?
My client is seeking an IT Support Technician to play a key role in supporting and maintaining their internal IT infrastructure. This position will involve providing hands‑on technical support to internal users, ensuring systems remain stable, secure, and high-performing, while contributing to ongoing IT improvement projects during a period of growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied support role, working across infrastructure, end‑user support, and incident resolution in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day‑to‑day support across the organisation's LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, and firewall infrastructure
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365
- Log and manage service requests and incidents, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation
- Conduct root cause analysis for infrastructure or security incidents and implement corrective actions
- Maintain detailed records of incidents, resolutions, and technical changes
- Work with third‑party vendors to resolve hardware or software issues when required
- Create and maintain internal documentation and knowledge‑base articles
- Provide basic user training and promote self‑service IT resources where appropriate
- Contribute to ongoing IT infrastructure and improvement projects
- Minimum 4 years' experience in an IT Support or Technical Support role
- Strong hands‑on experience with Windows and macOS environments
- Experience working with Active Directory, Group Policies, and Microsoft 365 administration
- Familiarity with remote desktop and helpdesk tools
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure support
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities
- Excellent communication and user support skills
- Experience supporting network infrastructure and security best practices
- Ability to manage multiple support requests effectively
- A proactive and customer‑focused approach to IT support
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider IT team
