Position: Data Engineer Contract

Data Engineer (6 Month Contract)

Contract Length: 6 Months

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer to join a fast-paced data and technology environment on a 6-month contract
.

You will work within a cross-functional team supporting business intelligence, product analytics and operational data needs across the platform.

This role is focused on delivering scalable, reliable and well-structured data solutions on AWS
, helping transform business requirements into production-ready data pipelines and models.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines
    .
  • Develop and optimise large-scale relational database systems (Postgre

    SQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
  • Architect and implement AWS-based data solutions using services such as:
    • S3
    • Redshift
    • Glue
    • Lambda
    • Athena
    • EMR
  • Translate business and product requirements into clear technical data specifications
    .
  • Develop and maintain data models, schemas and documentation to support reporting and analytics.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity and reliability through testing and monitoring.
  • Support cross-functional teams with reliable data access and insights delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to automate data workflows and improve performance
    .
What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
    .
  • Strong SQL and relational database optimisation experience.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS data services
    .
  • Experience with ETL/ELT development
    .
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing principles
    .
  • Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions.
  • Experience with Python, Spark, or similar data processing tools (desirable).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, Dev Ops, or infrastructure-as-code practices is beneficial.
