What You’ll Be Doing Data Architecture & Strategy
- Define and own enterprise-wide data architecture aligned to business and technology goals
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models across multiple domains
- Establish scalable integration patterns, data flows, and canonical models
- Architect and optimise modern data platforms across AWS, GCP, and hybrid cloud
- Design real-time and batch data pipelines using modern data engineering frameworks
- Evaluate emerging technologies to improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Define and embed data governance frameworks, including lineage, metadata, and data quality
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards (e.g. GDPR, HIPAA)
- Implement best practices around encryption, key management, and platform security
- Partner closely with engineering, analytics, product, and business teams
- Provide technical leadership and architectural direction across initiatives
- Mentor engineers and support design reviews to ensure architectural consistency
- A degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or similar
- Expertise in data modelling, database design, and optimisation
- Hands-on experience with:
- ETL / ELT pipelines and data transformation optimisation
- AWS (Kinesis, S3, Redshift) and GCP (Pub/Sub, Big Query)
- Streaming technologies (Kafka, Confluent, Spark, Flink)
- Solid understanding of data governance tools and frameworks (Collibra, Apache Atlas)
- Strong knowledge of security, encryption, and key management (AES-256, TLS, KMS, Vault)
- Experience working in multi-cloud or hybrid environments, including cost optimisation
- Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex architectures to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Relevant certifications (AWS, GCP) are highly desirable.
