This is a teaching role - but with purpose.

As a Freelance Essential Skills ICT Tutor, you’ll help young people achieve maths qualifications that unlock jobs, training and further study. Your lessons will be more than numbers on a page - they’ll be about building confidence and futures.

Get Set UK supports people to develop skills, confidence and stability for work. We deliver employability and skills services that help individuals move into and remain in employment, working closely with employers and partners across the UK.

• Plan and deliver engaging ICT lessons aligned to the Essential Skills curriculum.
• Deliver and assess accredited ICT qualifications.
• Build digital confidence for learners with different starting points.
• Maintain records, safeguarding and compliance standards.
• Support progression into work, training or education.

• Enjoy working with people and supporting them to make progress over time.
• Build trust through consistency, honesty and follow-through.
• Are comfortable working to clear expectations and routines.
• Take pride in keeping your work organised and up to date.
• Communicate openly with colleagues and ask for support when needed.
• Can share examples of sticking with something and seeing it through.

• Experience in delivering Essential Skills ICT in the past.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Hold a GCSE (A-C) or equivalent in Maths and English (or Level 2 Essential Skills).
• Hold a recognised teaching qualification in line with ES Circular 01/12.
• A genuine interest in helping people build skills, confidence and independence.
