Solutions Architect

Enso Recruitment is delighted to be working with a brand new FDI organisation who are establishing their engineering function in Belfast. As part of their foundational hiring strategy, they are now seeking a Solutions Architect to play a critical role in shaping architecture, technical direction, and client delivery across enterprise-scale platforms.

This is a high-impact, player-coach position suited to someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills. You’ll operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and client strategy, designing scalable systems while guiding teams through delivery.

You will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing technical architectures. Working across cloud-native systems, APIs, and distributed platforms, you’ll help shape solutions that operate in high-scale, regulated, and enterprise environments.

This role offers genuine influence. From pre-sales technical engagement through to architectural oversight during delivery. As part of a new Belfast team, you’ll have the opportunity to define standards, mentor engineers, and contribute to long-term technical strategy.

• Translate customer and product requirements into scalable, end-to-end technical architectures
• Design solutions across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments
• Produce architecture diagrams, documentation, technical proposals, and proof of concepts (POCs)
• Ensure architectures align with best practices for security, scalability, reliability, and performance
• Lead discovery sessions and technical deep dives with client stakeholders and internal teams
• Collaborate with sales, product, engineering, and delivery teams to shape solution strategy
• Support smooth handoff into delivery and remain involved through critical delivery phases
• Contribute to internal standards, knowledge sharing, and architecture best practices
• Mentor engineers and elevate technical thinking across the organisation

• 8+ years’ experience in solutions architecture, software engineering, or technical consulting
• Proven success designing and deploying complex, scalable enterprise systems
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Strong knowledge of APIs, microservices architecture, and integration patterns
• Familiarity with enterprise IT systems, infrastructure, and security best practices
  , including working within compliance standards
• Excellent communication and stakeholder skills. Able to simplify complex technical decisions for any audience
• Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams in fast-moving environments
• Comfortable operating in a client-facing role
