AI Systems Architect - Cheshire My Client is a privately owned technology company operating in a specialist, data-driven domain, currently scaling a complex software platform built around edge computing, distributed systems, and AI workloads. They are seeking an experienced AI Systems Architect to take technical ownership of the core system architecture as the platform evolves and scales. This role is being handled confidentially and offers significant autonomy, influence over technical direction, and long-term progression for the right individual.

The Role This position sits at the intersection of systems architecture, backend engineering, and platform reliability. You will design and build the infrastructure that connects distributed edge environments with backend services, ensuring systems are scalable, observable, and robust in production. The role is hands-on and suited to someone who enjoys solving complex engineering problems rather than operating purely at a conceptual level.

Key Responsibilities Own and evolve end-to-end system architecture across edge and backend environments Design and build backend services and APIs using Go and Python Develop scalable data ingestion, messaging, and telemetry pipelines Support containerised deployments and system reliability Work closely with senior engineers to align architecture with delivery Identify and manage trade-offs around performance, latency, and scalability Document system design and architectural decisions clearly Essential Experience Strong experience with Python in production environments Commercial experience using Go (Golang) for backend or systems development Solid Linux background Proven track record designing and supporting production distributed systems API design and integration experience Strong understanding of networking and system interactions Desirable Background Edge or distributed computing environments Event-driven or messaging-based architectures Telemetry, monitoring, or data-intensive platforms Containerisation and deployment workflows Exposure to constrained or non-traditional runtime environments Profile Sought Senior engineer or architect who remains hands-on Comfortable operating with incomplete information and evolving requirements Pragmatic decision-maker who understands real-world trade-offs Clear communicator with strong documentation habits Interested in long-term technical ownership rather than short-term delivery If you are interested in this position, please Click Apply Now!
