At Kainos, we provide a proven track record of launching innovative and creative SaaS products designed to help Workday customers maximize their Workday investment. Our existing solutions include Workday testing, compliance, data masking, employee document management and pay transparency analyzer. The role holder will join a new Product innovation team to focus entirely on innovating new products on the Workday platform.
This role has been opened as a result of new Workday partnerships which include the Marketplace, the AI Gateway, AWS integration and the ‘Built on Workday’ programme. These initiatives provide the technical and commercial framework for creating a thriving product ecosystem on the Workday platform. With this new team we want Kainos to become the leading Partner in the Marketplace.
As an AWS Lead Platform Engineer (Consultant), you’ll design, automate, build, manage and optimise modern platforms. It’s a fast‑paced environment and you’ll be trusted to make sound, reasoned decisions. You’ll work with customers, share knowledge and mentor those around you.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Work as part of a team – collaborating with engineering, testing, consulting, product management and security to build, test and deploy high‑quality software, including platform services.
- AWS Expertise – design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud architecture on AWS.
- Providing Technical Leadership – lead your team in solving challenging problems on delivery and support projects.
- Using technology for positive impact – employ latest technologies and industry best practices to maximise user and business benefit.
- Be objectively opinionated – offer constructive critique to improve solutions; share knowledge internally and in the wider industry.
- Be a role model – support colleagues, foster a Dev Ops culture, embody Kainos values, and be trusted for transparent decisions.
- Put people first & develop others – manage, coach and develop staff, focusing on performance and career development.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical design to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience in team leadership and supporting a Dev Ops culture for complex projects.
- Significant expertise in AWS and Terraform – knowledge of building applications and services on AWS using Terraform.
- Experience designing, building, testing, automating, monitoring and operating reliable digital service platforms in production.
- Proficiency in Continuous Delivery and automation techniques for production releases, including multi‑tool orchestration.
- Experience in building and supporting modern digital service platforms: architecture, design, estimation, planning, and MVP iteration with agile practices.
- Experience championing Site Reliability Engineering practices – monitoring, modernisation, cost optimisation.
- Experience using AWS cloud platform, including SaaS or PaaS, to solve business problems.
- AWS Sys Ops Administrator, Dev Ops Engineer or Solutions Architect certification.
- Terraform Associate certification.
- Certification in a specialised area (e.g., Networking, Security).
