AboutThe Role
We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to help manage and improve our hybrid IT infrastructure and user estate.
Responsibilities- Manage core hybrid infrastructure: VMware, ESXi, Powerstore, Azure, AWS
- Oversee network configuration:
On-Premise switches & firewall, Cloud VPN & VPC, Wi-Fi Ubiquiti stack - Administer internal systems: backups, SIEM, IT equipment
- Support company data protection and compliance practices
- Lead or support cloud migration planning and implementation
- Collaborate with internal teams to evolve infrastructure
- Manage company laptops (Windows and Linux)
- Administer SaaS user directories and services
- Oversee user provisioning for SaaS tools
- Assist in maintaining and renewing key certifications:
Cyber Essentials & Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, other standards where applicable - Contribute to internal security policies and testing procedures (security, performance, availability)
- Support planning and execution of annual Disaster Recovery (DR) testing
- Maintain and test Business Continuity Plans (BCP)
- Produce and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation in line with company policy
- Provide internal training on infrastructure and cybersecurity topics
- Act as a ‘buddy’ for new team members as needed
- Contribute to Proof of Concept (PoC) efforts for new tools and technologies
- Support internal documentation for PoCs and production deployments
- Undertake relevant certification study (e.g., VMware, Azure, AWS)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing on-premise networks, including VOIP
- Practical knowledge of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity implementation
- Strong understanding of backup strategies (Windows/Linux VMs to Azure or AWS – HYCU knowledge desirable)
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems (both server and desktop environments)
- Proven experience leading migrations from on-premises to cloud environments
