Whatis the job?
Our conferences and events create memories for our guests with the sights, sounds and service. As a Conference & Banqueting (C&B) Supervisor you will ensure that our conference and banqueting rooms are presented to the highest standard and in the manner requested by our guests. A main focus will be supervising Team Members during shifts — during set up, delivery and clear down.

- Be the leader on shift during service as a Conference and Banqueting Supervisor
- Ensure all areas of responsibility run effectively in the absence of the Head of Department and that the department is adequately resourced
- Understand targets and objectives and work to achieve them
- Ensure adherence to Crowne Plaza brand standards by the Conference & Banqueting team
- Maintain full product knowledge of hotel services/facilities to maximise guest satisfaction and sales opportunities
- Supervise daily shift operations and ensure compliance with C&B policies, standards and procedures
- liaise with function organizers to ensure all details are correct
- Ensure all Food & Beverage, room set-ups and equipment meet presentation, quality and quantity standards
- Ensure fixtures and fittings and equipment are cleaned and maintained
- Handle guest complaints and refer issues outside your area to the Conference & Banqueting Manager
- Maintain food handling and sanitation standards
- Monitor adherence to cash handling and credit policies and procedures
- Supervise staffing levels to meet guest service and financial objectives
- Train staff on Conference and Banqueting operations
- Assist in safety procedures and emergency procedures training
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback and address problems promptly
- Empower the team to deliver excellent customer service
- Ensure team understands expectations and brand/hotel standards
- Supervise shifts to maintain high service delivery and guest satisfaction
- Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and implement measures to meet quality targets
- Sell effectively and handle guest complaints promptly
- Comply with Health and Safety management and report hazards
This role involves working in events and conferences. Hours may include mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
What you will needRequired criteria
- Experience with in a C&B / events role
- Proven experience supervising and directing others with a hands-on approach
- Customer service experience
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure; able to motivate others in the C&B team
- Good communication and organisational skills
Desired criteria
- Experience in hospitality as a supervisor
