Pharmacist - Clinical

I am currently accepting applications from Pharmacists (must be registered with PSNI or eligible for membership) to work within a clinical setting.

As a pharmacist, you will build relationships with a variety of health professionals and improve the lives of patients from all walks of life. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment where you can deliver genuine care.

This role will be based in Belfast on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday) from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (PSNI), or eligible for membership (foundation year completed).
  • MPharm - essential
  • Right to Work in UK/Northern Ireland
Salary

Band 6: £39,405 per annum (+ holiday pay, pension, and discount benefits).
Clinical experience is advantageous but not essential for Band 6.

Band 7: £48,526 per annum (+ holiday pay, pension, and discount benefits).
Previous clinical experience is essential for Band 7.

Job Responsibilities
  • Participate in the work of the dispensary or wards, including clinical and accuracy checking of prescriptions and dispensed medicines, both within the dispensary and at ward level.
  • Review and assess inpatient and outpatient prescriptions for legality, accuracy, safety, and appropriateness of drug therapy.
  • Ensure all work complies with Medicines Ethics and Practice, local policies and procedures, risk management, and health and safety policies.
  • Communicate recommendations on drug therapy to doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Liaise with relevant clinical pharmacists on patient care issues.
  • Dispense and supply medicines.
  • Advise patients on adherence to their medication regimen.
  • Receive, store, and supply controlled drugs in accordance with the Misuse of Drugs Act and Trust policy.
  • Dispense clinical trial drugs according to protocols.
  • Provide a professional and courteous service to patients, staff, and other healthcare staff attending the dispensary.
