Job Description & How to Apply Below
Approx. 2/3 days per week
1. Your New Company You will be joining a growing professional services organisation that delivers project‑based work across multiple teams. As the business continues to expand, so too does the need for strong financial oversight, streamlined processes, and improved operational efficiency. This is a newly created role designed to strengthen internal finance capability and support ongoing organisational development.
2. Your New Role As Finance Officer, you will take ownership of the day‑to‑day financial management of the organisation, ensuring accurate reporting, effective controls, and smooth monthly cycles. A key focus of the role will be managing Work in Progress (WIP) processes — verifying project data, liaising with project managers, and ensuring consistent tracking across the business.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will lead budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end processes, producing clear management accounts to support strategic decision‑making. Beyond finance, you will act as a link between operational and administrative teams, helping to streamline workflows, implement new systems, and identify areas for improvement as the organisation scales.
You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders during a transition phase, ensuring processes are well‑documented and that handovers are smooth and comprehensive.
3. What You’ll Need to Succeed To thrive in this role, you should bring: A strong finance background, ideally gained within a consultancy, project‑based, or professional services environment Hands‑on experience managing month‑end routines, budgeting cycles, and WIP reporting An operational mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and streamline processes Excellent organisational and communication skills, with confidence supporting multiple teams The ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and remain calm during busy financial periods Experience using finance or project management systems (any platform is suitable) Desirable qualities include:
Experience in project‑driven organisations Exposure to large‑group reporting frameworks (helpful but not essential) Personal attributes such as proactivity, attention to detail, and a solutions‑focused approach will be key to your success.
4. What You’ll Get in Return A part‑time role offering flexibility (approx. 2 days per week) The opportunity to shape and refine internal finance and operational processes A valued position within a growing organisation where your input will directly influence future development A collaborative team environment where continuous improvement is encouraged 4778308
