A reserve list will also be created for future positions. Your new role Analyse financial data and manage in‑year budgets, including monthly profiling, monitoring variances and producing management accounts. Coordinate and deliver month‑end and year‑end processes, ensuring accurate consolidated accounts and monthly accounts for internal bodies. Oversee payroll processing and supervise finance support staff across payroll, ledgers and other core financial functions.
Support internal and external audits, maintain financial procedures and ensure compliance with governance standards. Contribute to procurement activities, pension returns and the maintenance of key financial registers. Provide financial reports, support senior management, and assist with improvements to financial systems, processes and service delivery. What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you must meet one of the following qualification routes:
Academic Route: AAT Professional Diploma OR ATI Diploma for Accounting Technicians OR An equivalent CCAB/CIMA‑recognised accounting/finance qualification PLUS at least 3 years’ relevant experience ORNon‑Academic Route:
At least 5 years’ relevant experience Your experience must include:
Supervising staff within a finance environment Preparing monthly management accounts Budget management And experience in at least two of the following:
Payroll processing & HMRC online returns Working with internal and external auditors Procurement (ideally in public sector) You will also need strong communication skills, excellent Excel capability, confidence with accounting principles, and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
