Assistant Accountant

Artemis Human Capital is proud to be partnering exclusively with a growing Northern Irelandbased organisation to appoint an Assistant Accountant as part of an expanding finance function. This is a newly created role designed to strengthen the month-end and management accounting capability of the business. It offers a broad, hands-on remit and is ideal for a part-qualified or finalist-level accountant, or an experienced Accounting Technician, who is keen to step into a role with real ownership and progression potential.

What Youll Be Doing Working closely with senior finance colleagues, youll play a key role in delivering accurate financial information while supporting the wider day-to-day running of the finance function. Reporting & Month-End Contribute to the production of monthly management accounts Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments Support balance sheet reconciliations Assist with analysis and commentary on monthly variances Transactional Finance Oversee the accuracy of accounts payable and receivable postings Support aged debt reviews and cash allocation processes Assist with improving billing, invoicing, and payment workflows Controls & Continuous Improvement Maintain strong audit trails and supporting documentation Assist with reconciliations and internal finance controls Gain exposure to broader commercial finance and business-facing projects About You Youll be motivated, organised, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven finance environment.

You enjoy working with detail, have a solid grasp of accounting fundamentals, and are keen to continue progressing your finance career in a commercial setting. Background & Experience Essential One of the following:
Newly qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA Strong part-qualified accountant with relevant experience Qualified Accounting Technician (AAT or equivalent) Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail Advantageous Experience in professional services or multi-entity environments Previous involvement in month-end close and reporting cycles Next steps If youre an Assistant Accountant seeking a broader, more developmental role within a growing organisation, wed be keen to speak with you.
