Assistant Accountant

Artemis Human Capital is currently supporting a long-established NI manufacturing business with the appointment of an Assistant Accountant to join their on-site finance team. This role has been created to strengthen month-end reporting and financial control and will suit a part-qualified accountant or experienced finance professional who enjoys working close to operations and wants to continue building depth in management accounting within a stable, well-run organisation.

The Role Working alongside the Financial Controller, you will support the delivery of accurate financial information, ensure robust balance sheet control, and provide analysis to support both operational and commercial decision-making. The role combines technical accounting with practical, business-facing finance. Key Areas of Responsibility Support the production of monthly management accounts Prepare journals, accruals, and prepayments Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls Analyse performance, trends, and variances across the business Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis Contribute to improvements in reporting and finance processes Work closely with non-finance stakeholders across the operation About You You will be comfortable working in a fast-moving, office-based environment and enjoy taking ownership of your work.

Youre analytical by nature, confident working with data, and keen to develop your career within a manufacturing or operational finance setting. Experience & Background Part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA or significant relevant experience in a similar role A minimum of two years experience in a manufacturing finance environment, OR A minimum of five years relevant experience Demonstrable experience of month-end close and balance sheet ownership Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Next Steps If youre an Assistant Accountant looking to deepen your month-end and management accounting experience within a well-established manufacturing business, wed love to speak with you.
