Assistant Accountant

Hayward Hawk are delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and plays a hands-on role in delivering accurate and timely financial information to support operational decision-making. What You'll Do:
Assist with the preparation and delivery of weekly and monthly financial reports Process cashbook postings and complete weekly bank reconciliations, including adjustments Support weekly payroll processing Assist with contract costing and margin analysis Prepare monthly WIP schedules and contract reconciliations Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accuracy of the general ledger Assist with month-end reporting including accruals, prepayments and journal postings Support internal controls compliance and finance process improvements Liaise with Contract Managers to produce KPI and performance reports Contribute to the development and implementation of robust finance procedures Undertake additional duties as required to support organisational objectives What You'll Need:
Minimum 3 years experience in a financial accounting role, Experience processing weekly payroll Strong working knowledge of current payroll, pension and VAT legislation Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines What You'll Get:
