Belfast Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum Permanent, Full-Time About the Role We are seeking an experienced Group Accountant to join our client to have a direct impact on the success of the overall finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in managing group-level accounting processes, supporting audits, and delivering accurate financial reporting. You will work closely with senior finance professionals to ensure compliance, maintain robust controls, and contribute to strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities Assist with preparation of head office monthly accounts, including income statement, balance sheet, fixed asset register, and monthly analysis. Maintain balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments, and perform reconciliations. Support group reporting and returns. Assist with internal audit activities. Contribute to annual budget preparation for head office and property companies. Support the Group Financial Controller in managing the group audit process.
Prepare year-end accounts and audit packs, liaising with external auditors. Prepare statutory accounts and manage intercompany recharges. Post relevant journals and perform periodic bank reconciliations. Provide ad hoc project analysis and maintain documentation as required. Deliver group-level analysis and reporting. Ideal Candidate Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Degree-level education and a recognised professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Strong understanding of accounting processes and internal controls.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines. Proven experience in preparing monthly management accounts. Knowledge of accounting ledger systems (Sage experience preferred). Flexible and adaptable to varied workloads. Professional attitude and ability to work independently. Strong organisational and planning skills. Why Apply?
