Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant Belfast We are working with a well-established, multi-site automotive retail group that continues to perform strongly across the UK and Ireland. They are now seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will support the day-to-day running of the finance function and play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and robust controls.

The successful candidate will gain valuable exposure within a fast-paced, commercially driven environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or experienced finance professional who enjoys working in a hands-on role, thrives on accuracy, and wants to build experience within a large, established business.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and post journals and accruals Bank and balance sheet reconciliations Support management accounts preparation Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting Maintain purchase and sales ledgers Support internal and external audit processes Ad-hoc reporting and finance support as required Who Were Looking For:
Minimum 2 years experience in a similar finance or accounting role Part-qualified (or working towards) ACCA/CIMA/ACA desirable High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
