Financial Controller

Artemis Human Capital is delighted to be working exclusively with a well‑established, highly regarded consultancy business with operations across the UK and Ireland. With an impressive client base and a clear growth trajectory, they’re now seeking a commercially focused Financial Controller to initially join them on a part‑time basis to lead the finance function and support the business through its next exciting phase of development.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team, influencing strategic decisions, shaping financial direction, and helping to drive performance across the wider business.

• Take full ownership of the finance function, reporting into the leadership team
• Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts with clear, actionable insights
• Lead on budgeting and forecasting, helping to shape financial plans and priorities
• Monitor performance through variance analysis and help course‑correct as needed
• Implement and enhance internal financial controls
• Prepare board reports and communicate financial updates across the business
• Build and maintain KPIs and dashboards to support strategic decision‑making
• Identify and drive improvements across systems, processes, and reporting
• Present financial results in a clear and commercial manner to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
• A strong background in a similar, hands‑on finance role—ideally within a growing SME
• Strong systems knowledge and an interest in process improvement
• Commercially astute, with the ability to turn numbers into meaningful business insight
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A proven people leader who can support, develop, and motivate a small team
