Financial Change Manager; FP&A​/Accounting​/Transformation

Huron is a global consultancy that collaborates with clients to drive strategic growth, ignite innovation, and navigate constant change. We are expanding our Belfast-based delivery centre to establish a centre of excellence for high-impact Finance Transformation projects. As a functional finance manager, you will translate complex financial strategies into world‑class technology solutions, leading a team in our European practice.

• Solution Design & Implementation – Conduct deep‑dive analyses of client requirements through virtual workshops and process mapping, then translate these needs into scalable, business‑aligned solution designs. Perform hands‑on configuration of cloud applications (Oracle EPM/ERP, One Stream, Workday, etc.), build financial models, develop integration workflows, and create sophisticated reports and dashboards.
• Functional Solution Design – Lead the design of financial systems, holding workshops with Controllers and FP&A Directors to define Chart of Accounts structures, consolidation logic, and “Record‑to‑Report” or “Plan‑to‑Perform” processes. Ensure alignment with IFRS/GAAP and strategic reporting needs.
• Finance Transformation – Advise clients on best‑practice finance operating models, streamlining period‑end close cycles, automating reconciliation, and designing driver‑based forecasting models that deliver commercial insights.
• Client Collaboration – Serve as the translator between IT and Finance, managing relationships with finance stakeholders across Europe and articulating how cloud solutions impact day‑to‑day accounting operations and strategic planning.
• Project Delivery – Own specific functional work streams (General Ledger, Consolidation, Planning) with autonomy, creating functional specifications, UAT scripts, and training materials for finance users.
• On‑site Engagement – While primarily based in Belfast (hybrid), travel to client sites across Europe for design workshops and go‑live support to ensure the human aspects of finance transformation are managed effectively.

• Experience – 10+ years in Finance Transformation, FP&A, or Core Accounting with experience leading a team and implementing financial software.
• Professional Qualifications – Recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA, or European equivalent) preferred; deep understanding of financial statements, double‑entry bookkeeping, and consolidation rules.
• Industry Background – Experience with in a Big 4, Finance Transformation practice, or top‑tier consulting firm highly preferred. Industry professionals (Finance Managers, Systems Accountants) with strong project experience are welcome.
• Functional & Technical Expertise – Strong understanding of financial processes with hands‑on functional experience on one of the leading platforms:
  • Financials:
    Oracle Cloud ERP (GL, AP, AR, FA), Workday Financials, or SAP S/4
    
    HANA.
  • EPM/FP&A:
    Oracle EPM (FCCS, PBSC), One Stream, or Anaplan.
• Client‑Facing Skills – Able to discuss variance analysis with a Financial Controller as comfortably as data integrations with an IT Lead; adept at solving complex functional problems such as intercompany eliminations and multi‑currency reporting.
• Languages – Fluency in English required; professional proficiency in another European language (German, French, Spanish, Dutch) desirable.
