Regulatory Reporting Junior Analyst – Citi

This role is a junior position within the CASS Regulatory Operations team in Belfast Operations. Key responsibilities include client money calculation, CMAR and MCAR submission to the FCA and CBI, PS14/9 activities covering Prudent Segregation, Break Management and Shortfalls, and collaboration with change partners to automate manual processes.

Team Overview

The EMEA Regulatory Operations CASS team performs a key role in a number of client asset processes including client money calculations, client money diversification, CMAR, MCAR, CASS RP, 10‑day+ break management oversight, and prudent segregation calculations and oversight. The team acts as the central point of contact within Operations & Technology for CASS issues, chairs the monthly CASS O&T Client Asset Forum, and participates in business‑aligned CASS forums.

Role Overview

This junior position, within the Belfast Operations CASS Regulatory Operations team, involves client money calculation and oversight, CMAR and MCAR collation and submission to the FCA and CBI, and PS14/9 activities covering prudent segregation, break management and shortfalls. The team continuously engages with Change Partners to identify automation opportunities, contributes to business requirements, performs user acceptance testing, and updates procedures resulting from change.

Responsibilities
  • Process daily client money and shortfall calculations, engaging with key stakeholders, business lines, control groups and client asset oversight teams to ensure timely and accurate processing. Input daily payments to adjust books and records in line with client money calculations.
  • Collate and complete a monthly Client Money Asset Return (CMAR & MCAR) at a business level, providing a detailed walkthrough of proposed submission figures to key business sponsors and submitting to the FCA and CBI at a consolidated entity level.
  • Timely and accurate collation and distribution of key MIS reports for all relevant CASS processes.
  • Adhere to all control and compliance requirements and update procedures as required.
  • Identify areas for improving existing regulatory reporting processes and controls, supporting the Change Team, Technology and other stakeholders to deliver technology solutions for manual processes and assist with UAT where required.
  • Participate in ad‑hoc projects as required.
  • Develop regulatory understanding with the opportunity to become a CASS subject matter expert (SME) and develop in‑depth knowledge of the supported products, markets and processes.
  • Expose yourself to senior management groups across Operations and become fully proficient in the use of technology within the department.
  • Enhance communication and organizational skills.
  • Meet targets set within the group and interact with a wide spectrum of people to achieve these skills.
Qualifications
  • Experience in Securities & Banking Operations, or a Control or Regulatory/Compliance function with strong product knowledge and a working understanding of systems and product flows. Knowledge of CASS rules and regulations is advantageous but not necessary. Team player who works well with colleagues of all levels to achieve value‑added results.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships across Operations.
  • Ability to consistently deliver work of a high standard under pressure, understanding the front‑to‑back technology used within day‑to‑day processes.
  • Self‑motivation, flexibility and a strong desire to succeed will bring a recognised and rewarded career.
