Artemis Human Capital is delighted to be working with a well-established organisation in the live events and cultural venues sector that operates a range of flagship venues for entertainment, conferences and public events. This is an opportunity to join a values-driven team that delivers large-scale events to a world-class standard and takes real pride in customer experience.
They are now seeking an experienced Duty Manager to play a key role in the operational delivery of events across multiple venues. This is a permanent full-time position offering variety, responsibility and the chance to be at the heart of live event delivery.
The role
As Duty Manager you will be responsible for overseeing venues during events and ensuring everything runs exactly as planned. You will act as the senior operational presence on shift, leading teams, managing suppliers and resolving issues calmly and decisively.
You will work closely with Event Managers and senior stakeholders to ensure event schedules are delivered on time and to standard while maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere for clients, artists and audiences.
Key responsibilities
- Manage venues during live events to ensure smooth and safe delivery
- Work flexibly across multiple large venues including evenings and weekends
- Lead on health and safety compliance including emergency decision making
- Resolve customer issues and complaints with confidence and professionalism
- Supervise front of house and operational teams during events
- Ensure event information and reporting is accurately maintained
- Support event planning for selected entertainment and business events
- Champion equality, accessibility and safeguarding at all times
About you
This role will suit someone who thrives in live environments and enjoys being the person others look to when decisions need to be made. You will be comfortable balancing operational detail with customer experience.
You will bring:
- Two years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role within events or a similar operational/hospitality setting
- Proven experience delivering excellent customer service
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confidence making time-critical decisions that impact people and operations
- A solid understanding of health and safety in busy public environments
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Word
- Formal qualifications in English and Maths are required or equivalent experience demonstrating strong literacy and numeracy.
