BBBHTest Automation Engineer

MCS Group is looking for a Contract Test Automation Engineer to play a key role in building out a brand-new test automation capability. This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground floor of a greenfield testing initiative, shaping the end-to-end testing framework for an engineering function operating s is a superb opportunity to secure a long-term contract in the Northern Ireland market.

This contract would suit either a Senior Test Automation Contractor, looking for a long-term engagement, or equally someone with intermediate level experience who is looking to further grow their skill set.

• Develop and expand an early-stage automation framework, taking it from initial foundations to a fully mature testing capability.
• Design and implement automated tests across the UI layer, including smoke and regression testing.
• Build and maintain robust API test suites.
• Support performance testing, contributing to tooling and approach.
• Work closely with engineers to embed quality throughout the SDLC.

• This role requires demonstrable commercial experience working with Type Script and Playwright for Test Automation.
• Experience with AWS would be highly beneficial (platform runs fully on AWS)
• Exposure to Java
• UI, API, performance, and regression testing experience
• Ideally you will have prior experience contributing to framework architecture
• CI/CD familiarity within cloud environments
• Ability to influence engineering teams around testing best practice
