Preconstruction - Mechanical Building Services Manager Client A career-defining opportunity for a Mechanical Building Services professional to join a leading M&E contractor based in Belfast, delivering technically complex projects across Commercial, Healthcare, Education and Industrial sectors throughout the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth, the business is expanding its preconstruction function and seeking an individual to shape mechanical design and drive value from concept stage.

This is a primarily Belfast-based role, with some flexibility once embedded.

The Ideal Candidate Open to Mechanical Project or Contracts Managers running jobs and looking to move into preconstruction, as well as Mechanical Design Engineers from consultancy backgrounds seeking a contractor-side role. You will have a Building Services background with experience in design coordination, project delivery, or contract management, strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services, Building Regulations, and BIM-led delivery, and the commercial awareness to align design with programme and value.

Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience considered. Responsibilities Lead mechanical building services design from concept to tender, appoint and coordinate design consultants and specialist disciplines, manage Contractor Design Portions (CDP) and drive value engineering, lead technical workshops and design meetings, ensure compliance with Building Regulations and standards, support cost planning and commercial strategy, oversee BIM coordination with in-house Revit teams, prepare technical submissions and approvals, and provide clear design, programme, and risk visibility to delivery teams.

Remuneration £60,000 DOE plus 29 days annual leave (increasing with service), pension, private healthcare after one year, free on-site parking, Health & Wellbeing initiatives, and Death in Service cover (2x salary).
