As transport planners we are dedicated to shaping better cities and towns, creating spaces where walking, cycling and public transport are more appealing and accessible.
A key focus is on promoting low‑carbon transport solutions to reduce car dependency and encourage people to choose greener, more sustainable ways of getting around. OpportunityWe’re looking for Graduate Transport Planners to join our team across several UK offices. From day one, you’ll be part of an unrivalled community of experts, supported in your career path and encouraged to work towards a professional qualification.
As part of our transport planning team you will provide expert guidance, make recommendations and help identify solutions tailored to a client’s or project's specific needs. This involves understanding the bigger picture, listening to stakeholders, analysing data and providing informed advice to help make better decisions.
Typical day‑to‑day responsibilities- Preparing reports on technical analysis and findings
- Undertaking numerical analysis
- Using a range of computer software tools ranging from Microsoft Excel to specific modelling packages
- Working on technical, research and strategy reports
- Solving technical problems and providing innovative solutions as your experience develops
- Undertaking site visits as required
We’re looking for graduates with curiosity, personal drive and an aptitude for developing technical skills. If you can combine these skills with an understanding of (or a willingness to learn about) Transport Planning and a desire to deliver excellent services for clients, we’d like to hear from you.
Qualifications, attributes and skills- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or other Engineering, Geography, Planning, Economics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics or Data/Computer Science with a prediction of 2:1 or higher, or equivalent
- Data analytics or Transport Planning‑based Master’s degree or other relevant topic with a prediction of Pass or above is advantageous
- Enthusiasm for a career in Analysis and Planning, underpinned through knowledge and understanding of our sector and work
